Certification Requirements:

BLS
NBSTSA

No floating or call required.

Experience:

5 years of experience required.

Education:

Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma. A high school diploma or equivalent education/experience is required. A diploma from an accredited surgical technology program or documented on-the-job training program is preferred.

Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of a registered nurse, the Surgical Technologist II participates as a member of the perioperative team. The role involves performing direct and indirect perioperative tasks for patients undergoing surgical and endoscopic procedures, as well as assisting anesthesia personnel. The primary focus of this position is the scrub person role.

The staff member in this position must be able to participate in the planning and provision of perioperative care for patients in adolescence, early, middle, and late adulthood. The Surgical Technologist II works on a flexible schedule as assigned by the Assistant Director of Surgery. Weekend shifts are assigned on a rotating basis.
