Job Description:
The GNU Group is looking for an experienced Senior Project
Manager - Signage & Wayfinding Strategy to lead strategy, planning
and execution for environmental branding, architectural signage and
wayfinding solutions for our clients. This pivotal role is both
client-facing and strategically embedded in the success of the
firm. Candidates with proven experience, initiative, and leadership
capabilities may evolve into a principal-level position within the
GNU Group.The Senior Project Manager (SrPM) holds full authority
and accountability for all aspects of a client's engagement-from
proposal to closeout. This includes overseeing strategy, resource
allocation, budgeting, schedule control, project delivery, and
client satisfaction. This individual will also contribute to
internal team leadership, thought leadership, and strategic
growth.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Execution: Lead creation of detailed
project work plans including: scope definition, timeline, resource
allocation, risk assessment, budget tracking, and quality control.
Monitor progress through project management tools and dashboards;
proactively update clients and leadership. Track and adjust project
schedules to ensure alignment with changing client needs and
internal resourcing. Develop and manage contingency plans to
mitigate project risks. Ensure successful project closeout
including lessons learned and documentation.
- Team Leadership & Mentorship: Collaborate with Director of
Project Management and Project Managers (PMs) to guide project
execution and support conflict resolution. Provide coaching, peer
feedback, and support professional development for project teams.
Foster a team culture that values open communication,
accountability, and continuous learning.
- Client Relationship: Proactively meet with clients on a regular
basis post-award to ensure customer satisfaction and maximum
exposure at all levels. Develop a program which identifies top/key
clients to build and/or maintain client relationships and strategic
partnerships. Develop stakeholder engagement plans to manage
expectations and ensure alignment at every project phase.
- Stakeholder & Client Engagement: Develop stakeholder engagement
strategies to manage expectations and align on goals. Conduct
regular client check-ins and lead project reviews to ensure
satisfaction. Build strategic partnerships with key clients for
long-term growth.
- Technical & Financial Oversight: Ensure high-quality
deliverables across all phases of work. Track project financials
against work plan estimates, resolve variances, and maintain
profitability.
- Project Controls & Reporting: Leverage project management tools
and software to monitor scope, schedule, budget, resources and
revenue projections. Generate and share regular status reports for
internal and external stakeholders.
- New Business: Assist in new business presentations and
interviews as needed. Proactively look for opportunities to add
value to existing accounts and produce high-quality work to grow
opportunities organically.Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 10 years' experience in wayfinding, environmental branding, and
architectural signage.
- 5+ years' experience in leading healthcare wayfinding strategy
& implementation.
- Proven ability to plan, document and execute project plans,
including scope definition, schedules, budgets and
deliverables.
- Excellent presentation, verbal, written and leadership
skills.
- Ability to plan, document and execute project plans, including
scope definition, timelines and budgets.
- Organized, with excellent problem solving, time management and
risk management skills.
- Highly detail-oriented, with a strong eye for design and
quality control.
- Strong knowledge of Project Management Methodology and Tools,
with a strong knowledge of Project Management Disciplines.
- Proactive, flexible, team player with the confidence and
integrity to earn client and internal team trust quickly.
- Ability to adjust to dynamic project situations and manage
critical decisions with tact, respect, and professionalism.
- Ability to read architectural and engineering plans.
- Familiar with ADA and CBC signage code.
- Familiar with general contracting/architectural terminology and
